November 01-30, 2012: November Round-Up:
The game of patience with goalkeepers about to being solved as Hungarian goalkeeper Andras Gango moves to 07 Vestur which leaves room for Meinhardt Joensen - who has stopped at B36 Tórshavn - to replace him at KÍ Klaksvík. Jákup Mikkelsen might make U-turn and continue at ÍF Fuglafjørður after all. TB and coach Milan Kuljic part company. And football association announces full match program for next season.
November has been quite peaceful when it comes to transfers or football news in general, but during the last week, no. 1 and 2 from the recent season named their new coaches for their vacant hot-seats.

October 01-31, 2012: October Round-Up:
Coaches and player news as clubs are preparing for the 2013 season, and the oldest club in the Faroe Islands, TB Tvøroyri will host a friendly match against the oldest club in the world, Sheffield FC.

October 20, 2012: Player of the Year Awards 2012:
ÍF Fuglafjørður's Brazilian striker Clayton Soares is named player of the year 2012.

October 16, 2012: World Cup 2014 Qualifier, Group C:
After holding Ireland for 45 minutes, the Faroe Islands’ hard work was wrecked by an Irish wonder-strike in the first minute of the second half, as Ireland went on to win 4-1 in the end (video).

October 12, 2012: World Cup 2014 Qualifier, Group C:
Sweden comes from behind to edge past the Faroe Islands (Videos of goals).

October 06, 2012: Round 27 of the premier league "EFFOdeildin":
EB/Streymur claim the Faroese title with a hard-fought 3-2 over NSÍ Runavík. Stalemate between 2nd place ÍF Fuglafjørður and HB Tórshavn who hold on to their 3rd place in the table and Europa League spot. KÍ Klaksvík climb to 4th after beating FC Suðuroy 7-1 as Víkingur draw with B36 Tórshavn. TB Tvøroyri avoid relegation by the skin of their teeth as they are beaten 4-1 by B68 Toftir who gets relegated.

September 01-30, 2012: September Round-Up:
FIFA president Sepp Blatter to visit the Faroe Islands. Faroe Islands coach Lars Olsen has picked a 24-man squad for the qualifiers against Sweden and Ireland on 12 and 16 October.

September 29, 2012: Round 26 of the premier league "EFFOdeildin":
EB/Streymur are just a single win away from the title as they nervously edge past B68 Toftir who must beat TB Tvøroyri 4-0 in the last match of the season to avoid relegation. ÍF Fuglafjørður do the necessary against relegated FC Suðuroy, but their title hopes rely on help from NSÍ Runavík who fought out a goalless draw against B36 Tórshavn. Víkingur win 4-3 against KÍ Klaksvík who drop below HB Tórshavn who now occupy 3rd place in the table and thereby the Europe League spot after a 3-1 win over TB Tvøroyri who will avoid relegation unless they lose by 4 goals to B68 Toftir.

September 23, 2012: Round 25 of the premier league "EFFOdeildin":
EB/Streymur reclaim the top spot in the table as they beat Víkingur 3-2 while ÍF Fuglafjørður are held by desperate B68 Toftir who will need at least 4 points in the remaining two matches to avoid relegation as TB Tvøroyri beat NSÍ Runavík with their first away-win of the season. B36 Tórshavn beat KÍ Klaksvík whose Europa League spot is now under threat as HB move within a point as they beat relegated FC Suðuroy 4-0.

September 15 & 16, 2012: Round 24 of the premier league "EFFOdeildin":
Clayton Soares fires ÍF Fuglafjørður to the top of the table with his 3rd hat trick of the season, as they down NSÍ Runavík. EB/Streymur drop to second as they are held by KÍ Klaksvík. TB Tvøroyri get a valuable point against Víkingur while B68, who don’t seem look to have the qualities for top flight football, are well beaten by HB Tórshavn. B36 Tórshavn score twice in the last 10 minutes to beat relegated FC Suðuroy 3-1.

September 12, 2012: Round 23 of the premier league "EFFOdeildin":
Title race becomes a two-horse race as EB/Streymur and ÍF Fuglafjørður comfortably beat B36 Tórshavn and Víkingur, respectively, while KÍ Klaksvík only manages a draw against TB Tvøroyri who leapfrog B68 Toftir (on goal difference) who are now in the drop zone after losing to FC Suðuroy in injury time. HB Tórshavn will find it difficult to qualify for Europe as they falter again against NSÍ Runavík.

September 07, 2012: World Cup 2014 Qualifier, Group C:
Only a combination of poor finishing from Germany and fabulous goalkeeping from Gunnar Nielsen saves the Faroe Islands from getting a real hammering from the Germans who win 3-0 (Video highlights).

September 02, 2012: Round 22 of the premier league "EFFOdeildin":
EB/Streymur stay on top of the table after coming from two goals down to beat HB Tórshavn 3-2.

August 01-31, 2012: August Round-Up:
HB defender Vagnur Mohr Mortensen announces retirement after broken leg. EB/Streymur coach Heðin Askham takes break after season. NSÍ Runavík defender Viljormur Davidsen joins Norvegian 3rd tier club FK Jerv. B36 defender Odmar Færø returns to Scotland. Germany’s team against the Faroe Islands has been selected.
Lars Olsen selects his team for the World Cup qualifier against Germany in Hanover on 7 September.
A more efficient Iceland beat the Faroe Islands 2-0 in an otherwise even match.
Rógvi Baldvinsson quits at Bristol Rovers after two weeks.
Faroe Islands coach Lars Olsen selects his team for the Iceland friendly on 15 August which includes goalkeeper Gunnar Nielsen, while Víkingur defender Atli Gregersen, who servs a 5-match league suspension, has been dumped. Also the Faroese U21 team to face Denmark the same day is selected.

August 29, 2012: Round 21 of the premier league "EFFOdeildin":
EB/Streymur rue missed second-half sitters as ÍF Fuglafjørður salvage a point in the dying moments in the top clash. NSÍ Runavík virtually book their ticked for next season's top flight as they beat newly crowned cup winners Víkingur who lose pricy points in the title race. KÍ finally win again as they beat B68 Toftir who are relieved to see that fellow strugglers TB Tvøroyri are beaten by FC Suðuroy, who win their first match of the season. HB Tórshavn beat B36 Tórshavn in the capital derby.

August 25, 2012: The Cup Competition – The Final:
Víkingur claim the cup title after beating EB/Streymur on penalties after an epic battle, where EB/Streymur were leading twice in normal time and once in extra time, and where the EB/Streymur goalkeeper had the chance to claim the cup title, had he scored on the penalty that he missed in the shoot-out.

August 18 & 19, 2012: Round 20 of the premier league "EFFOdeildin":
ÍF Fuglafjørður win their sixth match in succession as they beat B36 Tórshavn to stay in hot pursuit of EB/Streymur who for the second match in a row come from behind two times to beat strugglers TB Tvøroyri. NSÍ Runavík get 3 massive points against FC Suðuroy to move 5 points clear of the relegation line. HB Tórshavn set their sight on a Europa League spot as they come from behind to beat former table toppers KÍ Klaksvík who seem to have run out of steam. Víkingur overcome relegation-threatened B68 Toftir with two second-half goals to stay in contention with the top.

August 15, 2012: U21 Qualifying round:
The Faroe Islands stun Denmark with late equalizer.

August 10 & 11, 2012: Round 19 of the premier league "EFFOdeildin":
EB/Streymur stay on top of the table as they come from behind twice to beat rock-button FC Suðuroy. ÍF Fuglafjørður win their fifth match in a row as they beat KÍ Klaksvík to climb to 2nd position the table. No change in the relegation zone after draw in the massive game between B68 Toftir and NSÍ Runavík while TB Tvøroyri hold B36 Tórshavn to a goalless draw. Stalemate between HB Tórshavn and Víkingur.

August 03-05, 2012: Round 18 of the premier league "EFFOdeildin":
The top is getting crowded as ÍF Fuglafjørður and Víkingur move within 2 points of tabletoppers EB/Streymur, with victories over NSÍ Runavík and TB Tvøroyri, respectively. B36 Tórshavn do the expected against FC Suðuroy. HB Tórshavn struggle past B68 Toftir. EB/Streymur reclaim the top spot in the table after beating KÍ Klaksvík in the top match.

August 01, 2012: Round 16 of the premier league "EFFOdeildin":
ÍF Fuglafjørður move up to third in the table with a 4-1 win over Víkingur in the postponed round-16 match.

B36 Tórshavn ease past NSÍ Runavík. HB Tórshavn comfortably beat TB Tvøroyri. ÍF Fuglafjørður edge past FC Suðuroy. KÍ Klaksvík defend their lead in the table as they come back from 3-0 down to salvage a 3-3 draw while EB/Streymur are held to 0-0 by B68 Toftir.

July 22 & Aug. 01, 2012: Round 16 of the premier league "EFFOdeildin":
EB/Streymur salvage a point with a late equalizer against B36 Tórshavn, but must surrender the top position on the table to KÍ Klaksvík who demolish TB Tvøroyri. HB Tórshavn looked to be cruising in the first half an hour, but were well beaten in the end by NSÍ Runavík. B68 Toftir are still under the relegation line after beating FC Suðuroy, but are now level on points with TB Tvøroyri. Víkingur and ÍF Fuglafjørður play on 1 August.

July 12, 2012, UEFA Europa League, 1st qualifying round, 2nd leg:
EB/Streymur ousted from the Europa Legaue on the away-goals rule as they lose 2-0 away to Armenian side Gandzasar.

B36 Tórshavn crash out of the Champion League on penalties against Linfield FC after stalemate in 120 minutes today and the other 90 minutes in Northern Ireland a week ago.

Terrific result for EB/Streymur who beat Armenian outfit Gandzasar 3-1, but the away goal could prove costly for the aggregate score (video highlights).

This season’s edition of NSÍ Runavík, who are currently in the building face for a new team, didn’t quite have the qualities to make a mark in European competition as they lost 3-0 away to Luxembourgian Differdange 03.


July 03, 2012, UEFA Champions League, 1st qualifying round, 1st leg:
B36 Tórshavn got a superb result in the 1st leg of the Champions League 1st qualifying round as they held Linfield FC to a 0-0 draw at Windsor Park in Belfast - well aided by Meinhardt Joensen's 1st half penalty-save (video of penalty).

July 03, 2012, UEFA Europa League, 1st qualifying round, 1st leg:
Víkingur rue missed 1st half penalty as they are beaten 6-0 by FC Gomel, with all of the goals coming in the second half; 4 of them in the space of 5 minutes!

June 29 & 30, 2012: Round 15 of the premier league "EFFOdeildin":
ÍF Fuglafjørður leapfrog HB Tórshavn who are sunk by Clayton Soares' brace. KÍ Klaksvík comfortable beat FC Suðuroy to go level on points with leaders EB/Streymur. B68 Toftir drop two points below the relegation line as TB Tvøroyti snatch injury-time equalizer. Top tightens as NSÍ Runavík down EB/Streymur while Víkingur beat B36 Tórshavn in 5-goal thriller.

KÍ Klaksvík climb to second place in the table with a 1-0 win over íF Fuglafjørður. Víkingur and HB Tórshavn draw. B36 Tórshavn held by TB Tvøroyri. B68 Toftir beat NSÍ Runavík in the relegation batle. No surprise in the clash between top and bottom on Saturday as EB/Streymur beat FC Suðuroy 2-0.

June 16 & 17, 2012: Round 13 of the premier league "EFFOdeildin":
HB Tórshavn thrash poor FC Suðuroy. Massive win for NSÍ Runavík over TB Tvøroyri. ÍF Fuglafjørður beat B68 Toftir who sink deeper into the relegation zone. Víkingur beat table toppers EB/Streymur to close the gap to only two points. KÍ Klaksvík snatch last gasp winner against B36 Tórshavn to move within three points of the leaders.

June 13, 2012: Round 12 of the premier league "EFFOdeildin":
EB/Streymur beat ÍF Fuglafjørður and open up a 5-point lead at the top of the table as 2nd placed Víkingur are held to a 1-1 draw by NSÍ Runavík. KÍ Klaksvík move up to 3rd with a 3-0 win over B68 Toftir who drop below the relegation line again. TB Tvøroyri climb 5 points above the relegation line with a 3-0 win over FC Suðuroy. B36 Tórshavn beat HB Tórshavn who have two men sent off in the closing stages.


June 09 & 10, 2012: Round 11 of the premier league "EFFOdeildin":
EB/Streymur open up a 3-point gap at the top of the table as they beat HB Tórshavn. Second placed Vikingur salvage a point with a late equalizer against rock-button FC Suðuroy. 10-men TB Tvøroyri grab late equalizer against ÍF Fuglafjørður. Champions B36 Tórshavn drop 9 points off the top after a draw away to B68 Toftir. KÍ Klaksvík ease past NSÍ Runavík.


June 05, 2012: U21 Qualifying round:
The Faroe Islands were just centimetres from equalizing Serbia’s lead on the hour-mark, but Rógvi Holm’s effort smashed off the crossbar and instead Serbia doubled their lead with a penalty six minutes later to win the match 2-0.

May 28, 2012: Round 10 of the premier league "EFFOdeildin":
EB/Streymur take the lead in the table as they inflict TB Tvøroyri with their first defeat at their new pitch with a hat trick from Leif Niclasen. Víkingur drop to second place as they are held by B68 Toftir. HB Tórshavn are back in business after an easy 5-0 win over KÍ Klaksvík. NSÍ climb above the relegation line after a 2-0 win over lowly FC Suðuroy. 10-men ÍF Fuglafjørður manage a draw against B36 Tórshavn.

May 23, 2012: The Cup Competition (Løgmanssteypið)
Match reports from the semi-finals, 2nd leg:
EB/Streymur have qualified for their 6th cup final in succession despite losing 5-2 against HB Tórshavn, but EB/Streymur go through on the away goals-rule. Also Víkingur qualified for the final on the away goals-rule as they rather surprisingly were beaten 2-1 by FC Suðuroy.

May 19 & 20, 2012: Round 09 of the premier league "EFFOdeildin":
KÍ Klaksvík win their fourth match in a row as they beat table-toppers Víkingur who lose for the second time in succession. Major win for NSÍ Runavík who beat last season's champions B36 Tórshavn. ÍF Fuglafjørður pulverise FC Suðuroy. TB Tvøroyri on fire as they beat HB Tórshavn 4-2 after leading 4-0 to maintain their 100% record at their new football ground. EB/Streymur climb to second place with a 2-1 win over B68 Toftir.

May 12 & 13, 2012: Round 08 of the premier league "EFFOdeildin":
Table-toppers Víkingur loose fo the first time this season as they are down 3-0 by defending champions B36 Tórshavn. KÍ Klaksvík crush FC Suðuroy while EB/Streymur struggle to overcome NSÍ Runavík. HB Tórshavn lose 4-1 at home against ÍF Fuglafjørður. TB Tvøroyri celebrate their 120th anniversary on Saturday in style by beating B68 Toftir 3-1.

May 09, 2012: The Cup Competition (Løgmanssteypið)
Match reports from the semi-finals, 1st leg:
HB Tórshavn rue yet another missed penalty as they are downed 4-1 by EB/Streymur who came from behind to set their sight on a 6th cup final in a row. FC suðuroy are still in with a chance for the final after a 1-0 defeat away to Víkingur.

May 04 & 05, 2012: Round 07 of the premier league "EFFOdeildin":
HB beat B36 2-1 in the Tórshavn derby with injury-time winner in high drama which produced 3 red cards for B36. Víkingur maintain their four-point lead at the top of the table with a 2-0 win away to NSÍ Runavík. KÍ Klaksvík score twice at the death to beat B68 Toftir. EB/Streymur climb to third as they come from behind to beat ÍF Fuglafjørður. The two Suðuroy-teams, FC Suðuroy and TB Tvøroyri share the points.

April 28 & 29, 2012: Round 06 of the premier league "EFFOdeildin":
EB/Streymur miss late penalty and must settle for draw against HB Tórshavn who hit the woodwork three times. Víkingur open up a four-point gap at the top of the table after a relatively easy 4-0 win over bottom-team F.C. Suðuroy, although it was 0-0 at half-time. Title holders B36 Tórshavn lose at home for the second time in succession as they are downed by a 93rd minute sucker punch. TB Tvøroyri are off to a winning start on their new football ground as they defeat ÍF Fuglafjørður who don't look to be real title contenders. For a third time in succession NSÍ Runavík throw away a lead to lose 3-2 in the end as KÍ Klaksvík record their first win of the season.

April 01-30, 2012: April Round-Up:
Cup holders EB/streymur are paired with HB Tórshavn in the semi-finals of the cup competition while Víkingur will be red hot favourites to advance to the final as they were drawn against FC Suðuroy.
B36 Tórshavn part with Ivorian defender Sékou Tidiane Souare.
Draw for the quarter-finals of the cup competition.
B36 Tórshavn midfielder Ingi Højsted likely to end career after injury.

April 25, 2012: The Cup Competition (Løgmanssteypið)
HB Tórshavn make yet another great comeback as they come from 2-0 down against KÍ Klaksvík to win 5-3 after extra time to qualify for their first semi-finals since 2008. Also Víkingur need extra time to beat 10-men B68 Toftir who took the lead in extra time. EB/Streymur are on course for their sixth consecutive final as they beat 1st division club AB Argir while the other 1st division club B71 Sandoy surprisingly were leading against FC Suðuroy at halftime, but were still downed 5-1.

April 21, 2012: Round 05 of the premier league "EFFOdeildin":
HB Tórshavn come back from 2-0 down against NSÍ Runavík to win 4-2 despite missing two penalties. Víkingur beats ÍF Fuglafjørður to open up 2-point gap at the top of the table. EB/Streymur beat B36 Tórshavn. B68 Toftir scrape past FC Suðuroy. Stalemate between KÍ Klaksvík and TB Tvøroyri.

April 15, 2012: Round 04 of the premier league "EFFOdeildin":
B36 Tórshavn, Víkingur and ÍF Fuglafjørður equal on 10 points on top of the table as B36 and ÍF win while Víkingur draw with HB Tórshavn. B68 Toftir get their first points of the season after coming back from 0-2 to win 3-2. EB/Streymur get their first win of the season (Video).

April 09, 2012: The Cup Competition (Løgmanssteypið)
League champions B36 Tórshavn crash out of the cup competition, while defending cup winners EB/Streymur oust last season's losing finalists ÍF Fuglafjørður.

April 06, 2012: Round 03 of the premier league "EFFOdeildin":
Víkingur go two points clear on the top of the table with easy win over B68 Toftir. ÍF Fuglafjørður get added-time equalizer against B36 Tórshavn. HB Tórshavn miss second half penalty as they are held to 1-1 by KÍ Klaksvík. The two newcomers from Suðuroy, FC Suðuroy and TB Tvøroyri are off the mark with draws against NSÍ Runavík and EB/Streymur respectively.

March 30/31 & April 01, 2012: Round 02 of the premier league "EFFO deildin":
HB Tórshavn stay on top of the league by beating FC Suðuroy thanks to Hallur Hansson's winner directly on free kick, but B36 Tórshavn are equal on points after beating KÍ Klaksvík with second half goals. NSÍ Runavík are off the mark with a 2-0 win over newcomers TB Tvøroyri who will find it tough throughout the season. ÍF Fuglafjørður score twice in the last quarter of an hour to beat troubled B68 Toftir. Víkingur keep their 100% record intact with a 2-1 win over EB/Streymur who are already trailing by 5 points.

ÍF Fuglafjørður get late winner against NSÍ Runavík who were leading 1-0. Víkingur do enough to beat newcomers TB Tvøroyri. Defending champions B36 Tórshavn grab victory after six minutes of added time against newly promoted FC Suðuroy in the league opener.
