Skála hold Finnish side Tampere United to halftime, but can’t hold on in the second half.

Just 5 years ago, Skála were playing in the 3rd division, but in 2002 they played in the first division for the first time and in 2004 they became no. 3 in the league and thereby qualified to play in the Inter Toto Cup. - From 3rd division to European football in just 5 years; that’s not bad…

Skála did very well in the first half and held Tampere United from scoring.

But 12 minutes into the second half, Tampere penetrated the Skála defence and scored to 1-0 and 11 minutes later, Tampere made it 2-0. A. Hynynen scored both goals.

Traditionally Faroese teams are very poor away from home, and with a 2 goal deficit before the away match, Skála won’t have much hope of qualifying for the next round.

June 26, 2005: UEFA Inter Toto Cup, Tampere United - Skála, second leg:

Tampere United - Skála 1-0 (0-0)
1-0 Räsänen 67'

As expected, Skála did not qualify for the next round of the Inter Toto Cup, as Skála lost 1-0 in the second leg match away to Tampere United on Sunday.

The result at half time was 0-0, but 67 minutes into the second half, Räsänen scored for Tampere United, and that was the only goal in the match.

Tampere United therefore won 1-0 on the day and 3-0 on aggregate.
