April 02:
Round 05 of the premier division "Effodeildin":

HB Tórshavn - EB/Streymur 4-2 (3-0)
1-0 Levi Hanssen (pen)
2-0 Arnbjørn Hansen
3-0 Arnbjørn Hansen
3-1 Ragnar B. Danielsen
4-1 Arnbjørn Hansen
4-2 Niels Pauli B. Danielsen

Having been kept from creating scoring opportunities , HB took the lead on a penalty after 20 minutes after Fróði Benjaminsen had gone down rather easily as he turned  - knowing exactly what he did. Levi Hanssen converted emphatically as he sent the goalkeeper one way and the ball the other way.

Ten minutes later HB were 3-0 up, Arnbjørn Hansen netting twice; first with a header at the far post from a corner and shortly after Símun Samuelsen’s through-ball had played him clear.

EB/Streymur pulled a goal back 20 minutes through the second half with a downward header at the far post from a cross from the right hand side.

But Arnbjørn Hansen restored HB’s three-goal cushion eight minutes later as he slipped in a pass from Alex dos Santos.

Although EB/Streymur reduced the deficit in the 89th minute with a terrific shot from Niels Pauli Danielsen into the top corner, HB’s victory was never really threatened, although EB/Streymur had a couple of near misses in the closing stages.

TB Tvøroyri - NSÍ Runavík 2-3 (1-3)
0-1 Jonleif Højgaard
0-2 Klæmint Olsen
0-3 Klæmint Olsen
1-3 Albert Adu
2-3 Albert Adu

NSÍ seemed to have put the game beyond reach of TB when they went 3-0 up just before the 30 minute mark through Jonleif Højgaard and a brace from Klæmint Olsen, but TB’s never say die attitude almost earned them an unlikely draw as Albert Adu pulled a goal back with a header just before half-time and scored again with another header within 15 minutes of the second half.

But NSÍ managed to hold out for their 4th win of the season and top the table with a point ahead of B36 Tórshavn in second place.

Víkingur - FC Suðuroy 4-0 (1-0)
1-0 Finnur Justinussen
2-0 Finnur Justinussen
3-0 Finnur Justinussen
4-0 Finnur Justinussen

FC Suðuroy had nothing to offer and the match was mostly about Finnur Justinussen’s goalshow as he scored all of the four goals. Enough said.

AB Argir - ÍF Fuglafjørður 1-1 (1-0)
1-0 Rógvi Poulsen
1-1 Áki Petersen

With AB’s four draws in 4 matches and ÍF’s three, today’s result could really just end in a draw, right?

AB took the lead on the half-hour after a blunder from the ÍF defence which allowed Rógvi Poulsen to get clear, but ÍF equalized shortly after the break through right back Áki Petersen.

B36 Tórshavn - KÍ Klaksvík 1-0 (1-0)
1-0 Jákup á Borg (pen)

Most of the play had been between the two penalty areas and the source of a goal therefore had to come from a set piece, and just before the break, B36 were awarded a penalty as Hans Pauli Samuelsen went down, and from the spot, Jákup á Borg converted safely. He’s now equal with John Petersen on the all-time top scorer list with 147 goals.

B36 were sitting back defending their lead during the second half and for the most kept KÍ from clear-cut scoring opportunities.
