Víkingur took the lead within two minutes when an attempted cross from Sámal Jákup Joensen deceived everybody and went straight in.

B36 restored parity just a couple of minutes later from a corner where Odmar Færø’s header on the upright bounced back off the back of Víkingur goalkeeper Geza Turi to go in.

B36 had a slight edge during the next quarter of an hour and midway through the half Lukaz Cieslewicz was played clear in centre of field and when the goalkeeper advanced, Cieslewicz slipped the ball over to Róaldur Jakobsen for an easy tap-in .

Víkingur then started to dominate and had several finished from long range and towards the end of the half Philip Djordjevic set up Sámal Jákup Joensen who hit an unstoppable bullet into the top corner.

B36 were down to 10 men ten minutes through the second half as centre-back Hørður Askham was given directly red, but five minutes later 10-men B36 took a 3-2 lead when Gestur B. Dam from the by-line squared the ball in front of goal where a completely clear Høgni Eysturoy made an easy finish.

But the lead was short-lived as Víkingur equalized a minute later as the combined well on the left to play Finnur Justinussen clear to rifle low into the bottom far corner to set up the penalty shootout (extra time was not played).

Víkingur started and scored on all of their five attempts from the spot while Árni G. Nielsen missed B36’s third, so that Víkingur won the shootout 5-3 and 8-6 on aggregate.
