September 2013 Round-Up:

B68 Toftir return to the top flight

As 4th placed FC Suðuroy (but third in the line for promotion as 3rd placed HB Tórshavn cannot be promoted as they already have a team in the top division) lost to EB/Streymur, current 1st division leaders B68 Toftir cannot end lower than 2nd in the table, and therefore B68 were already certain of promotion today even before they had played their match against KÍ Klaksvík.

FC Suðuroy’s defeat also makes current second placed Skála favourites to grab the other promotion ticket as they will go five points clear of FC Suðuroy if they beat bottom-team B71 Toftir on Sunday. Only two rounds will remain after the current round has been completed.

1st division table:
No. /  Team  / Matches /  Points

1 B68 Toftir 24  47
2 Skála 24  42
3 HB Tórshavn 24  42
4 FC Suðuroy 25  40
5 B36 Tórshavn 25  37
6 Víkingur  25  34
7 KÍ Klaksvík  24  29
8 EB/Streymur  25  29
9 TB Tvøroyri 24  27
10 B71 Sandoy 24  18

Skála’s last two matches are against Víkingur (a) and EB/Streymur (h).
FC Suðuroy’s last two matches are against B36 (a) and Víkingur (h). Suðuroy will be without top scorer Jón Krosslá Poulsen in the penultimate round as he got a red card in today’s defeat to EB/Streymur.

B71 Sandoy, who played in the top division as late as in 2011, will be relegated to the 3rd tier.

HB Tórshavn were once leading the table by nine points, but after six losses in a row they have plunged to third place.
