November 2015 Round-Up:

30 November, 2015

International Friendly
Also November had a ton of transfer news, but before we jump to that, we can tell that the Faroe Islands will play a friendly international against Liechtenstein on 28 March in Marbella, Spain. The teams have met three times before - all of them friendlies - with the Faroes coming out victorious in all meetings.

And then to the transfer news:

AB Argir
AB Argir who have had a real exodus of players have now made some replacements. A couple of years ago it would have been big news learning that former HB winger Símun Samuelsen had joined AB, but having suffered from injury and spent much time side-lined during the last couple of years, Samuelsen’s share value has dropped somewhat.

Another signing is 20-year old forward Rasmus Dan Sørensen, who comes from B36 Tórshavn where he has spent all his career except from the first half of last season where he played for EB/Streymur.

From TB Tvøroyri AB have acquired U21 international Patrik Johannesen, an attacking minded midfielder, who scored six goals for his club this year.

On the other hand experienced midfielder Kári Nielsen, who has won many championships with HB Tórshavn, has announced his retirement from top football.

But from B71 Sandoy comes Høgni Midjord, who has some experience for B71 in the top division as well as a handful of matches for B36 Tórshavn, HB Tórshavn, FC Suðuroy and Skála – in total 119 matches and 7 goals for the 24-year old midfielder/forward.

AB also need defenders, and new signing is centre-back Gunnar Haraldsen who returns to the club he played for in 2010 and 2011, having spent the last four seasons at HB Tórshavn.

ÍF Fuglafjørður
ÍF have signed 21 year old Danish goalkeeper Oliver Nickolaj Djuraas Korch, or just Oliver Korch, as he is usually called. Korch has played 37 internationals for Denmark at U16, U17, U18, U19 and U20 level. At 17, he had trials at Inter Milan and Manchester City and a year later at Stoke as well.

From KÍ Klaksvík ÍF have snapped up 23-year old defender Gunnar Christiansen who has made 40 league appearances for KÍ’s first-team.

39-year old veteran defender Bartal Eliasen has announced his retirement from football after 23 years in the top flight. Five of those years were for GÍ Gøta; the rest for ÍF Fuglafjørður. In total he played 373 top flight matches and scored 75 goals – sometimes he played as a striker, but mostly as a central defender. 108 yellow cards and 7 red is part of his CV too.

It's also clear that Serb Nenad Saric, who has been with the club since 2006, will not continue.

KÍ Klaksvík
KÍ Klaksvík have managed to lure midfielder Súni Olsen from Víkingur. The 34 year old has been one of the very best Faroese players for many years, and is widely regarded as the best striker of a ball, whether it’s free kicks, long range shots or corners. And he does it equally good with both feet. His fitness level nowadays could maybe raise some question marks.

KÍ have also signed 29-year old Serbian defender Ahmed Mujdragic who has previously played in the top divisions in Albania, Serbia, Montenegro and Romania.

Skála
Skála have signed 26-year old midfielder Álvur F. Christiansen who spent the last year at AB Argir, having played his entire career at KÍ Klaksvík. In total, Christiansen has played close to 150 matches in the top division and has scored 21 goals.

Center-back Petur Pauli Mikkelsen, a regular starter, will not be available for Skála next season though, as he moving to Denmark to study. Also midfielder/defender Poul Grunnveit Olsen will be unavailable as he has returned to EB/Streymur after a year at Skála.

TB Tvøroyri
TB have found a Cameroonian goalkeeper for next season. 29-year old Joslain Mayebi spent time at French club Metz in his youth and has later played in the top division in Israel and has appeared for Wrexham’s first-team. In 2002 he was on the bench of the Cameroonian national team in a qualifier for the Africa Cup of Nations.

The goalkeeper will not be the only Cameroonian at TB though as also forward 24-year old forward Herve Din Din (does that sound like Hergé Tin Tin?) has signed for Faroe Islands’ oldest club. The 191 cm tall forward has previously played professionally in Vietnam, Gabon and Tunisia.

From island rivals FC Suðuroy TB have acquired 19-year old Salmundur Bech who score three goals this year.  Additionally they have signed 21-year old Signar H. Olsen from Royn Hvalba.

Some doubt had been about striker Albert Adu, but he has pledged for TB next season also.

Víkingur
Víkingur have signed 25-year old Jobin Drangastein from AB Argir. Not reckoned as a high-profile player to date, the hardworking and reliable midfielder might make another mark at Víkingur where coach Sámal Erik Henze undoubtedly has a plan with the signing, as Hentze was the player’s coach at AB for several years.

07 Vestur
Former Serbian TB goalkeeper Ivan Stojkovic, who was rumoured to ÍF Fuglafjørður, has signed for 2nd tier 07 Vestur who have high hopes of promotion this year, they say.

FC Suðuroy
Relegated FC Suðuroy will keep on to their Georgian players Mamuka Toronjadze and Valerian Iobashvili who will both be player/coaches alongside Faroese Palli Augustinussen, who is undecided whether he’ll play or not. Nigerian defender Christian Ibeaga has left the club, though.
