August 13, 2005: Round 19 of the Formula 1st Division:

HB Tórshavn go down to NSÍ Runavík

NSÍ Runavík – HB Tórshavn 2-1 (1-0)
1-0 Christian Høgni Jacobsen 10'
2-0 Christian Høgni Jacobsen 86'
2-1 Rókur av Fløtum Jespersen (pen) 90'

With both central defenders out of action, Rasmus Nolsøe because of suspension and Jóhannis Joensen because of injury, HB’s defence was always going to struggle and with midfield general Rúni Nolsøe also out through suspension, HB were an easy target for NSÍ Runavík.

Christian Høgni Jacobsen should have made it 1-0 for NSÍ after only 8 minutes when he was alone with the keeper, but he missed the target.

But he made up for his mistake only two minutes later, when he got a pass from by Andy Olsen and ran between the two central defenders and scored between the legs of the goalkeeper.

NSÍ were totally in control for the entire first half and could have scored more goals, with efforts from Andy Olsen and Helgi L. Petersen.

HB´s best chance came from a Hans á Lag shot which was saved on the line.

HB improved a bit in the second half and Tór-Ingar Akselsen tested Jens Marting Knudsen in NSÍ’s goal early in the second half, but NSÍ was still the better team. And 5 minutes from time, NSÍ were 2 up. HB had a freekick on NSÍ’s half. Jens Martin Knudsen caught the ball and NSÍ made a quick counterattack and alone with 3 HB defenders, Christan Høgni Jacobsen scored his second goal.

HB got a consolation-goal deep into injury-time, when Rókur av Fløtum Jespersen converted a penalty after Tór-Ingar Akselsen had been brought down in the penalty area.

Tomorrow, Sunday, Skála entertain B36 Tórshavn, and if either of them wins, HB will be 3 points adrift of the winner, but if they draw, HB will be only 1 point after them both.

The other matches in round 19:

KÍ Klaksvík won “the battle of the bottom” when they beat TB Tvøroyri in this very important match in Tvøroyri today. But it were TB who took the lead´, when their new foreign player Dejan Tomic scored to 1-0 in the 19h minute. Same Dejan Tomic could have made it 2-0 just before half time, when he was one on one with the goalkeeper, but the keeper won that duel. How costly is that miss going to be. Just after the start of the second half, KÍ levelled the score with a great goal from Hjalgrím Elltør, who dribbled past several TB players. Seven minutes from time, Hjalgrím Elltør set up Kristoffur Jacobsen to score the winning goal for KÍ, who now are 3 points in front of TB. TB will now have it extremely difficult to survive being 3 points adrift of KÍ and with KÍ better in the head to head games, KÍ are in effect 4 points clear of TB. These were KÍ’s first points in 9 matches! Second place from the bottom is still not equal to safety, as they’ll have to play against no. 2 in the second division for the place in the best flight.

EB/Streymur drew as usally, this time against ÍF Fuglafjørður. ÍF took the lead midway into the second half, but EB/Streymur levelled 15 minutes from time. EB/Streymur missed a penalty in the first half. This was EB/Streumur’s 7th draw at home in 9 games. With the 1 point, ÍF stay 1 point abowe GÍ Gøta and VB Vágur, who are 7th and 8th.

GÍ Gøta and VB Vágur were both concentrating on not losing today’s match and they both succeeded in that as the match ended in a draw. But neither of them is safe yet, as they are only 2 points in front of KÍ.

August 14:
Skála looked to have stamped their authority on both B36 and the league itself, when they were leading B36 Tórshavn by 2 goals after only 17 minutes. Both goals came from Bogi Gregersen. The first one was a rebound from the goalkeeper after he could only parry a Skála-shot and the second a rebound off the post. In the second half B36 made some offensive changes and Óbi came on and pulled one back for B36 not long after with a header from a corner. And just 5 minutes later, Bergur Midjord equalized for B36 with a spectacular volley. With this result, Skála and B36 are tied at 1st spot, one point in front of HB Tórshavn. NSÍ Runavík has entered the race also and are now only 4 points adrift of the top. NSÍ take on B36 in the next round.
