August 17:
Round 19 of the premier division "Effodeildin":

EB/Streymur - HB Tórshavn 0-3 (0-2)

0-1 Poul Ingason
0-2 Andrew av Fløtum
0-3 Kristin R. Mouritsen

HB had few worries against a very tame EB/Streymur team who seemed like they had been up all night celebrating the wedding of midfielder Hans Pauli Samuelsen who got married yesterday. Whether all the EB/Streymur faithful had been up all night celebrating too shall be unsaid, but the crowd for today’s game was probably the smallest for this encounter ever. And the weather has often been worse, although it wasn’t good today.

HB took the lead within five minutes from the start as EB/Streymur were caught sleeping and Andrew av Fløtum’s cross picked out a clear Poul Ingason who flicked past René Tórgarð in the EB/streymur goal from close range.

Samuelsen then tried from long range, but it appeared as his gun had been emptied on the wedding night. And as a whole, EB/Streymur rarely threatened during the first half, although they earned a number of corners.

HB doubled their lead just before the half-hour with a simple goal where Alex dos Santos on the left made a low cross into the penalty area where av Fløtum slid the ball into the back of the net.

HB seemed content with their 2-0 lead and gave away the initiative in the second half where EB/Streymur threatened several times, and twice Teitur Gestsson had to be at his best keep EB/Streymur at bay.

But HB also had chances at the other end where Tórgarð saved in spectacular fashion from a Santos long rang effort destined into the top corner.

But Tórgarð was rounded by Kristin R. Mouritsen after a HB counter attack, but from the somewhat acute angle, Mouritsen missed the target - which a top flight player still should have found.

However, it finally worked in added time for Mouritsen as he broke into the penalty area and finished in off the far post to make it 3-0 for HB.

B36 Tórshavn - Skála 2-0 (1-0)
1-0 Owngoal (Edvin Jacobsen)
2-0 Lukasz Cieslewicz

After a huge B36 chance in the opening minute, Skála managed to keep pace with the league leaders for the most of the first half and were unlucky not to take the lead through Brian Jacobsen whose shot B36 goalkeeper Tórður Thomsen jut managed to tip onto the crossbar and over for a corner which also came close, but Thomsen pulled yet another miracle save from his sleeve.

B36 then went on to take the lead 10 minutes before half-time with the help of an owngoal as Skála defender Edvin Jacobsen – under pressure from Cieslewicz - turned a Rógvi Poulsen cross past behind his own goalkeeper.

Skála rarely threatened in the second half, but it wasn’t until the dying moments that B36 cemented the victory when Adeshina Lawal set up Cieslewicz for an easy finish.

Víkingur - AB Argir 2-2 (0-2)
0-1 Aleksandrs Cekulajevs
0-2 Kári Nielsen
1-2 Filip Djordjevic
2-2 Heðin Hansen

Víkingur had most of the possession during the first half while AB threatened on the break and it was with that recipe that AB took a 2-0 lead. AB’s new signing, Latvian striker Aleksandrs Cekulajevs made it 1-0 in the 17th minute in his first match for the club, and in the 38th minute midfielder Kári Nielsen doubled the visitors’ advantage after another counterattack.

Filip Djordjevic pulled a goal back for Víkingur on the stroke of half-time, and 10 minutes before the end Djordjevic turned provider for Heðin Hansen’s tap-in to salvage the draw which was Víkingur’s 4th in succession – maybe a consequence of their extensive Europa League endeavours.

NSÍ Runavík - B68 Toftir 3-1 (3-0)
1-0 Christian Høgni Jacobsen
2-0 Magnus H. Olsen
3-0 Christian Høgni Jacobsen
3-1 Jóhan Dávur Højgaard

The contest already seamed over after NSÍ took a 2-0 lead within six minutes of the game. Christian Høgni Jacobsen proved he still has goals in his boots as he got the opener in the fourth minute before Magnus Olsen doubled the lead two minutes later.  Jacobsen was at it again 1shortly before the break, making it 3-0.

However, the second half was a very different affair where Jóhan Dávur Højgaard netted for B68 after 10 minutes, but although they rattled the crossbar a quarter of an hour before time, the result wasn’t really in doubt.

With 11 points to safety, B68’s days in the top flight seem numbered.

ÍF Fuglafjørður - KÍ Klaksvík 1-1 (1-1)
1-0 Jógvan Isaksen
1-1 Ndende Adama Guéye

Most of the match was played in turmoil, but they managed a goal apiece in the first half, however.

Centre-back Jógvan Isaksen brought the home team in front inside the first 10 minutes of the match, but parity was restored in the 34th minute when Ndende Adama Guéye headed home.
