May 25 & 26, 2014:
Round 10 of the premier division "Effodeildin":

May 25

Víkingur - B36 Tórshavn 1-2 (0-2)
0-1 Adeshina Lawal 5
0-2 Lukasz Cieslewicz 37
1-2 Finnur Justinussen 60

B36 Tórshavn stood yet another difficult away test as they are still undefeated after a narrow victory over Víklingur to top the table two points clear of HB Tórshavn.

It was again their attacking force that won them the match as they took the lead after five minutes on a counterattack where Polish forward Lukasz Cieslewicz set up Nigerian forward Adeshina Lawal who used his speed to get past goalkeeper Geza Turi to make the simple finish.

The provider became goal scorer 10 minutes from half-time after a solo effort to score with a low shot from just outside the penalty to double B36’s lead.

Víkingur pulled a goal back on the hour-mark from Finnur Justinussen’s powerful header, but B36 held their nerve to keep on to the three points.

KÍ Klaksvík - HB Tórshavn 1-2 (1-0)
1-0 Rodrigo Silva
1-1 Fróði Benjaminsen
1-2 Fróði Benjaminsen

Also HB are undefeated this season, but today they had to come from behind as KÍ were leading at half time from Rodrigo Silva’s goal after half-hour where he slotted home following a free kick.

HB levelled the match five minutes after the break as Fróði Benjaminsen, the captain, fired the ball into the back of the net after some ping pong following a corner.

Benjaminsen then won the game for HB with a quarter of an hour remaining with a spectacular volley.

AB Argir - NSÍ Runavík 0-7 (0-5)
0-1 Klæmint Olsen
0-2 Klæmint Olsen
0-3 Owngoal (Jógvan Isaksen)
0-4 Andy Olsen
0-5 Árni Frederiksberg
0-6 Klæmint Olsen
0-7 Klæmint Olsen

Having scored six goals in the opening three matches, but failing to score in the last six – except from an own goal against HB Torshavn – Klæmint  Olsen had brought his lethal guns to town again as he scored four times to go three goals clear on the top scorer list.

He had scored twice after the first quarter of an hour – the second with a header from Sjúrður Jacobsen’s cross.

It went from bad to worse for AB as defender Jógvan Isaksen scored an owngoal after half an hour, and the floodgates were pulled wide open for Andy Olsen and Árni Frederiksberg to exploit to make it 5-0 before half time.

In the second half, Klæmint Olsen scored another brace in the last 20 minutes of the game to finish the 7-0 rout.

Skála - EB/Streymur 1-1 (1-1)
0-1 Hans Pauli Samuelsen (pen)
1-1 Ólavur Mikkelsen

Although they have lost only one match more than NSÍ Runavík on 3rd place, Skála’s five draws make little difference in the table where they are five points below the relegation line – possible more depending on B68’s result against ÍF on Monday evening.

After EB/Streymur had taken the lead on a penalty from Hans Pauli Samuelsen after 18 minutes, Ólavur Mikkelsen restored parity as he turned in from a free kick.

May 26:

B68 Toftir - ÍF Fuglafjørður 1-1 (0-0)
0-1 Ari Ellingsgaard
1-1 Óli Olsen (pen)

ÍF failed to draw level on points with NSÍ in 3rd place while B68 failed to take a decisive step from the relegation zone as the two sides cancelled each other out with goals in the last five minutes of the match.

Little had happened before Ari Ellingsgaard though he had secured the visitors victory with five minites remaining with a screamer into the top corner from 20 metres, but Óli Olsen rescued B68 the draw from the penalty spot a few minutes later, after a clumsy infringement by the ÍF defender.
