May 02 - 04, 2014:
Round 07 of the premier division "Effodeildin":
May 02
B68 Toftir - Skála 0-0
AB Argir was probably the happiest team about the 0-0 draw in the bottom clash between the newly promoted B68 and Skála, as AB - currently below the relegation line - don’t want to fall to too much behind either of them.
For Skála, it’s positive that they have only conceded four goals in their last four matches compared to 10 in their opening three matches, but as Skála have scored only two goals in their seven games in total, they are going to find it difficult to win matches, and in the long run, draws aren’t going to cut it.
When October 26 comes, B68 will likely have to have stayed above AB Argir to avoid relegation, but will they miss this opportunity to have taken three points?
May 03
NSÍ Runavík - KÍ Klaksvík 1-1 (0-1)
0-1 Henry Heinesen
1-1 Debes Danielsen
KÍ looked to have sewn up the points and thereby climb to the top of the table with the goal midway through the first half when Henry Heinesen picked up a loose ball outside the penalty area and managed to break into the box and with simple body feints get clear and rifle low diagonally past Andras Gango in the NSÍ goal.
But more than three minutes into injury-time, Debes Danielse, who had come on 10 minutes earlier, headed home the dramatic equalizer from close range after a cross from another substitute, Meinhard E. Olsen, to deny KÍ the lead in the table.

AB Argir - HB Tórshavn 0-3 (0-1)
0-1 Fróði Benjaminsen
0-2 Krisitin Mouritsen
0-3 Tróndur Jensen
After 90 minutes AB can have few objections to HB’s victory, however, they’ll rue a couple of missed sitters that could have altered the end-result.
AB started brightly with a decent effort in the first minute but with an instant reply from HB who went close the minute after.
HB dominated the next period where it often was their physical superiority that won them the ball close to AB’s penalty area, but last ditch tackles kept HB at bay.
At the other end HB goalkeeper Teitur Gestsson made an excellent save to turn Karstin Højgaards shot around the post before HB took the lead in the 20 minute following a corner where first Andrew av Fløtum’s curling effort hit the woodwork, but as the ball was cross in front of goal again, Fróði Benjaminsen was on place to head home from close range.
AB so nearly equalized just before half-time, but Teitur Gestsson incredibly managed to tip Hørður Mohr’s diving header from close range over the bar.
AB went close again early in the second half, but from a clear position, AB fired over the goal when they ought to have scored.
Instead it was HB who doubled their lead after 55 minutes with a somewhat amusing goal where Kári Nielsen’s intended clearance was blocked by Kristin Mouritsen with the result that the ball from an acute angle went into the goal in off the far post.
Three minutes into stoppage time with the last kick of the game, Tróndur Jensen sealed the game for HB as he had been played clear by Mouritsen.
AB were hampered by the absence of two of their best players; Sorin Anghel and Faroese international forward Jóan Símun Edmundsson who has been injured since the third round:
Although 3-0 might look convincing by HB, it wasn’t quite, as the attacking play look a bit rusty and they also give away too many chances in defence.
Víkingur - ÍF Fuglafjørður 1-1 (1-1)
1-0 Bárður Hansen
1-1 Karl Løkin
Víkingur started as the stronger team and right back Bárður Hansen, who had returned from injury, gave the home team the lead after 7 minutes.
Víkingur went close to doubling their lead after 20 minutes, but goalkeeper Jákup Mikkelsen, who was back in the ÍF goal for the first time this season following injury, was relieved when he saw the ball smash against the upright.
ÍF then reorganized their team which made an immediate impact when Karl Løkin equalized from 30 metres after a blunder from Víkingur goalkeeper Geza Turi after 35 minutes.
Víkingur was generally the better team in the second half, but ÍF nearly stole the victory in the dying moments.
B36 Tórshavn - EB/Streymur 3-1 (1-0)
1-0 Owngoal (Gert Hansen)
2-0 Adeshina Lawal
3-0 Jákup á Borg
3-1 Egil á Bø
B36 stay two points clear at the top of the table after an emphatic win over EB/Streymur who look to have gone over the top.
B36 got the opening goal within two minutes from a corner where it was defender Gert Hansen who headed into his own goal.
B36 could have increased in the first half, but a number of good saves from René Tórgarð kept the score-line respectable at half-time.
EB/Streymur improved somewhat in the second half, but with a quarter of an hour remaining, B36 reignited the turbo and scored twice through first Adeshina Lawal and then by Jákup á Borg who now only needs four more goals to equal John Petersen’s all time scoring record of 146 league goals in the top division.
40 year old Egil á Bø scored a consolation goal for EB/Streymur with a minute remaining.
