March 22 & 23, 2014:
Round 02 of the premier division "Effodeildin":

March 22:

HB Tórshavn - ÍF Fuglafjørður 3-1 (3-1)
0-1 Bogi R. Petersen (pen)
1-1 Andrew av Fløtum
2-1 Christian R. Mouritsen
3-1 kristin R. Mouritsen

HB virtually decided the match with two quick goals in succession just before half time to make it 3-1 after ÍF had taken the lead with a 15th minute penalty.

The penalty came after a clumsy challenge from René Joensen in connection with a ÍF corner.  Bogi R. Petersen coolly converted from he penalty spot.

Brazilian forward Clayton Soares could have doubled the visitors’ lead moments later as he was played clear, but lack of pace saw him caught back by the defender who blocked the shot.

But otherwise it had been HB who had dominated the match, and their superiority paid dividend in the 28th minutes as a corner to the far post was head back in front of goal by Fróði Benjaminsen to Andrew av Fløtum who headed home for the equalizer.

HB went on to the lead in the 42 minute where Christian Mouritsen dribbled and turned on the edge of the penalty area to before he scored with a deflected shot.

On the stroke of half-time, younger brother Kristin Mouritsen rounded the goalkeeper to score from an acute angle to make it 3-1 on the stroke of half-time.

HB should have increased their lead early in the second half as Christian Mouritsen released midfielder Heini Vatnsdal who got clear, but the poor finish was straight on the legs of the goalkeeper.

ÍF then went close at the other end as first Ari Ellingsgaard hit the crossbar and then Dánajal á Lakjuni fired well over from the rebound as he had the goal at his mercy.

Minutes later Vatnsdal Heini hit the crossbar at the other end with a header from a corner.

Then it was ÍF’s turn to get close again after Karl Løkin had done much of the heavy lifting on the left before he made the cross to Ellingsgaard who’s header was first blocked by HB goaklkeeper Teitur Gestsson before Rógvi Holm saved off the line, just to repeat that feat once again from Ellingsgaards second attempt – this time from a back-heel.

Løkin the went close again late in the game with a long range effort destined for the far top corner, but Gestsson palmed it over with an excellent save.

AB Argir - B36 Tórshavn 1-2 (1-1)
0-1 Róaldur Jakobsen
1-1 Jobin Drangastein
1-2 Róaldur Jakobsen

The match had been cancelled yesterday because of strong wind, but also today the wind was severe, but deemed playable by the referee. The pitch on Argir is the one with the highest altitude and there is often quite windy.

With a headwind, B36 had a small edge for large parts of the first half and took the lead after some 30 minutes with a fine volley from midfielder Róaldur Jakobsen who fired from the edge of the penalty area after AB failed to clear from a corner.

However, AB equalized just before half-time with a close-range goal from Jobin Drangastein, but after AB had had the upper hand in second half, Jakobsen scored again from the edge of the penalty area to secure B36 the victory with a quarter of an hour remaining.

B68 Toftir - EB/Streymur 1-1 (0-1)
0-1 Niels Pauli Danielsen
1-1 Owngoal (Gert Hansen)

After B68 had had a couple of great opportunities to take the lead against the run of play, the visitors took the lead after five minutes before the break as a the B68 defence made a meal out of a high cross where the ball fell to a clear Niels Pauli Danielsen who slotted home from close range.

B68 managed to put pressure on EB/Streymur in the second half, but needed help for the equalizer as Gert Hansen headed powerfully behind his own goalkeeper from a free kick with 15 minutes remaining.

March 23:

Skála - NSÍ Runavík 1-5 (0-3)
0-1 Klæmint Olsen
0-2 Klæmint Olsen
0-3 Magnus Olsen
1-3 Brian Jacobsen
1-4 Árni Frederiksberg
1-5 Klæmint Olsen

Skála's inexperience was well exposed as they were hammed 5-1 despite creating several scoring opportunities themselves, but paid a high price for naivety in defence.

Skála went on winning course after just 8 minutes as Andy Olsen set up Klæmint Olsen for the goal, although the Skála goalkeeper Suni Ernstsson was credited for an owngoal as he had a touch on the ball.
(Update: Goal has since been given to
Klæmint Olsen)

Jákup Johansen should have equalized for Skála minutes later as he was played completely clear, but shamefully shot wide.

Instead Skála doubled their lead with the same recipe for the first goal where Andy once more set up Klæmint who this time scored with his head.

Andy again had the assist when he played Magnus Olsen clear to score from close range and make it 3-0 ten minutes from half time.

Skála pulled a goal back midway through the second half as Brian Jacobsen headed in from a corner. Skála threw caution to the wind which they paid for with two more goals in the closing stages as first Árni Frederiksberg made it 4-1 before Klæmint Olsen completed hit hat trick to finish the rout).

KÍ Klaksvík - Víkingur 1-0 (0-0)
1-0 Páll Klettskarð

Víkingur had most of the scoring opportunities and hit the woodwork three times, but KÍ stole victory 10 minutes from time when Hjalgrím Elttør on the left found Páll Klettskarð at the near post for the tap-in.
