June 21 - 25, 2006: Round 14 of the Formula Division:

3-3 thriller between arch-rivals,
KÍ Klaksvík and HB Tórshavn

KÍ Klaksvík - HB Tórshavn 3-3 (3-1)
1-0 Páll Mohr Joensen
1-1 Christian Lundberg
1-2 Christian Lundberg
1-3 Paul Clapson
2-3 Rókur av Fløtum Jespersen
3-3 Rasmus Nolsøe

HB came back from 1-3 down to take a point against old rivals KÍ Klaksvík.

But it was HB who took the lead a quarter of an hour into the first half, when Jákup á Borg played Páll Mohr Joensen clear in the penalty area, and he cleverly chipped the ball with the outside of his foot over the legs of the out-rushing KÍ goalkeeper and into the goal.

Before that, Jákup á Borg had missed a penalty for HB.

But KÍ weren't behind for long, because just 3 minutes later, Christian Lundberg had levelled the score, and another 3 minutes later, he put KÍ in the lead. His first goal came from a direct low free kick and his second from a downward-going header inside the box.

Paul Clapson the made it 3-1 for KÍ with a header after a fine cross from Harley Bertholdsen on the right.

HB's defence didn't look too convincing with the two second goals, as they keep having problems from defending the high balls.

But HB didn't surrender and 15 minutes from the end Rókur av Fløtum Jespersen reduced the score with a glorious shot from long range into the right top corner.

And 5 minutes before the final whistle, Rasmus Nolsøe equalized with one of his trademark free kicks.

In the dying moments, HB's captain, Janus Joensen, was shown the red card for retaliation. Although KÍ's Christian Lundberg did all he could to tease the referee to show Janus the red card by falling theatrically backwards, it was a stupid and unprofessional act by the HB captain. This was his second red card this season.

June 24:
VB/Sumba - B68 Toftir 1-1 (0-1)
B68 looked set to take a huge step out of the bottom of the table as they were leading 1-0 against VB/Sumba, but in injury-time, VB/Sumba equalized. 4 red cards prove the intensity of the game, as Ralph van Dooren (B68), Øssur Jacobsen (B68), Dan Djurhuus (VB/sumba) and Súni úr Hørg (VB/Sumba) were sent off.

June 25:

Skála - EB/Streymur 1-1 (1-0)
EB/Streymur couldn't extend their lead at the top of the table as they could only manage a draw against Skála. But it could have been even worse, as Skála was one up at half time, but some 10 minutes from the end, Hans Pauli Samuelsen secured EB/Streymur a point with a direct free kick. Earlier in the half, he had demonstrated given a foretaste of what was to come when he hit the upright. As GÍ Gøta also drew today, EB/Streymur is still on top of the table, 1 point ahead of GÍ in second. Although Skála will be disappointed with not getting all 3 points, the one they got made sure that they are now 4 points above the relegation-line and will feel comfortable that they're not going to be relegated.

GÍ Gøta – NSÍ Runavík 1-1 (0-0)
NSÍ looked set to take 2dn place away from GÍ, as they were leading 1-0, but GÍ equalized in injury-time to take a point and stay in second, 1 point adrift of EB/Streymyur.

B36 Tórshavn – ÍF Fuglafjørður 4-1 (3-1)
With an easy victory over ÍF, B36 overtook HB on third place and are now only 2 points behind leaders EB/Streymur. B36 and HB meet on Sunday in the Battle of Thorsavn.
